Scholarships

Margot and Bill Winspear, opera-lovers and College of Music patrons, established the first Endowed Chair in Opera with a gift of 1.5 million dollars. This allows UNT Opera to award generous scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, to selected vocal students each academic year.

Any scholarship award of $1,000 or more reduces tutition costs an additional $8,000 (by providing in-state tuition to awarded students). For many students, a $1,000 scholarship carries a $9,000 value. UNT offers one of the most reasonably priced, top-level educations in the nation. To understand the cost value of an education at UNT, please visit the College of Music "Cost of Attendance" page.
