Support UNT Opera through the “The Art of Opera”

First commissioned panel, representing Bizet's Carmen

UNT music alumna Christie A. Wood, owner of Art Glass Ensembles in Denton, is producing a series of original stained glass panels sponsored by donors for the Lyric Theater in the Murchison Performing Arts Center.  Each panel portrays a scene from an opera chosen by the donor and is mounted on one of the 46 light fixtures in the Lyric Theater, creating a gallery of classic opera images to enhance the interior of the theater.  Many of the opera panels have already been commissioned and installed; for a listing of available operas contact Beth Jackson.

By sponsoring a panel depicting your favorite opera, you will be assisting our opera program in two very direct ways:  the beautification of the Lyric Theater and the strengthening of the opera scholarship fund.  Eighty percent of your gift will go toward opera scholarships.  To honor those who sponsor a panel, a plaque will be placed outside the Lyric Theater acknowledging the gift to the opera program.

See all the panels and learn more about artist Christie A. Wood at the Art Glass Ensembles website. Read more about the Art of Opera program in the following articles:
